Let's get outside and enjoy the trails together!
This December, we’re exploring a local treasure with a fascinating story — Sam Michael’s Park, a 130-acre landscape of woods and open fields near Harpers Ferry. Once the home of the park’s namesake, Samuel G. Michaels, this property was known for its beauty, charm, and the eccentric personality of its owner.
Today, the park is a thriving community space and a living reminder of Sam’s wish that his land be “placed in suitable condition for viewing of the public.” Join us as we stroll through this historic property, learn about its colorful past and enjoy the natural beauty in each other's company.
Consider bringing a few holiday cookies and a sack lunch to enjoy together! Leashed dogs are welcome.
