Let's get outside and enjoy the trails together!
At this Wellness Walk, we'll be exploring the scenic Murphy-Chambers Farm, a beautiful spot in Harpers Ferry where natural beauty and human history come together. As we walk through open fields and wooded ravines, we’ll enjoy great views of the Shenandoah River and the surrounding landscape. Along the path, we’ll also see Civil War cannons and earthworks, visit the site where the John Brown Fort once stood, and learn about the Niagara Movement’s 1906 pilgrimage to this significant location. There are some great interpretive signs along the way, as well as some benches for the occasional rest! Please note that restrooms are at the Harpers Ferry Visitor Center, which is accessible by trail (see the trail map here: https://www.nps.gov/hafe/planyourvisit/upload/Murphy-Chambers-Farm-trail-map.pdf). It can also be accessed by driving through the main Harpers Ferry National Park entrance, but an entrance fee or park pass is required.
